My favourite city to visit so far\u2026. <\/strong>I don\u2019t know if it is my favourite, but I was fascinated by the desert city of Al Ain. It is built on an oasis, like the kind that you read about in storybooks. You get there by driving well over 100km down a road through open desert with endless sand dunes, then suddenly there is grass, palm trees, and even more strangely, cattle grazing (apparently made possible by an irrigation system over 3,000 years old). The place is boiling hot and well off the beaten track, but you get a taste of the real culture of old Arabia here.<\/p>\n

The one item that I couldn\u2019t fly without and why\u2026 <\/strong>A difficult one to answer as I usually go to sleep as soon as the cabin door closes. However, I never check in online unless I absolutely must, and I usually dress as smartly as my wardrobe will allow as I still hold on to the belief that one day, I\u2019ll be offered a free upgrade. It hasn\u2019t happened yet, mind<\/p>\n
