{"id":184886,"date":"2025-07-08T14:28:45","date_gmt":"2025-07-08T13:28:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.aviationbusinessnews.com\/?p=184886"},"modified":"2025-07-08T14:28:45","modified_gmt":"2025-07-08T13:28:45","slug":"lufthansa-cargo-strengthens-regional-logistics-with-beirut-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.aviationbusinessnews.com\/cargo\/cargo-news\/lufthansa-cargo-strengthens-regional-logistics-with-beirut-service\/","title":{"rendered":"Lufthansa Cargo strengthens regional logistics with Beirut service"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"282\" data-end=\"578\">Lufthansa Cargo has expanded its Middle East footprint with the launch of a new A321 freighter service to Beirut.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"282\" data-end=\"578\">The aircraft touched down at Beirut\u2013Rafic Hariri International Airport for the first time on July 4 and will now operate a weekly rotation between Frankfurt and the Lebanese capital.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"580\" data-end=\"951\">The new service is expected to bolster regional supply chain resilience and offer enhanced capacity for exports from Lebanon and neighbouring Syria, where trade activity is beginning to rebound.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"580\" data-end=\"951\">It forms part of Lufthansa Cargo\u2019s wider network that, together with Lufthansa Group belly-hold capacity, now connects to over 50 destinations across the Middle East and Africa.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"953\" data-end=\"1524\">\u201cBeirut\u2019s strategic location and diverse export base make it a vital logistics hub,\u201d said Antonio Tassone, head of sales and handling for Middle East, North Africa, Pakistan and Sri Lanka at Lufthansa Cargo. \u201cWith our new freighter connection via Frankfurt, we\u2019re unlocking the flow of a wide range of exports \u2013 such as perishables, pharmaceuticals, textiles, electronics, and traditional Lebanese crafts \u2013 to Europe, the Americas, and Africa. This route also supports growing trade from Lebanon and neighbouring Syria, where cross-border activity is gradually resuming.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1526\" data-end=\"2330\">Oliver Rossius, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lufthansa-cargo.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lufthansa Cargo<\/a>&#8216;s head of scheduling and network steering, added: \u201cFrankfurt&#8217;s position as a major logistics hub in Europe, combined with its extensive infrastructure, makes it an ideal starting and transit point for our new freighter service to Beirut.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1526\" data-end=\"2330\">&#8220;This route opens up significant opportunities for exporters from all around the world looking to expand their reach into Lebanon and neighbouring regions, where demand for high-quality products especially from Germany is on the rise.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1526\" data-end=\"2330\">&#8220;With our new freighter connection via Beirut, we\u2019re facilitating the export of a diverse range of goods \u2013 such as automotive parts, pharmaceuticals, and high-tech products \u2013 to the Middle East.
