{"id":184855,"date":"2025-07-07T16:17:34","date_gmt":"2025-07-07T15:17:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.aviationbusinessnews.com\/?p=184855"},"modified":"2025-07-07T16:17:34","modified_gmt":"2025-07-07T15:17:34","slug":"world-first-boeing-777-300er-p2f-conversion-project-nears-completion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.aviationbusinessnews.com\/cargo\/cargo-news\/world-first-boeing-777-300er-p2f-conversion-project-nears-completion\/","title":{"rendered":"World-first Boeing 777-300ER P2F conversion project nears completion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Aircraft leasing, trading, and administration services company, AviaAM Leasing Service Centre (AviaAM Leasing), has confirmed it is entering the final stages of the world-first Boeing 777-300ER passenger-to-freighter (P2F) conversion project.<\/p>\n<p>The project is being carried out in collaboration with US-based Mammoth Freighters LLC, with the conversion expected to be completed by the end of 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Once converted, it will be capable of transporting up to 98 tonnes over 5,000 nautical miles, with a substantial volume of 819 cubic metres of cargo on long-haul routes, including transatlantic operations.<\/p>\n<p>Tadas Goberis, chief executive of AviaAM Leasing, which is an Avia Solutions Group company, said: &#8220;This represents the world&#8217;s first aircraft of this type \u2013 a prototype that marks a significant milestone in our company&#8217;s growth.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We plan to convert several additional aircraft of this model in the near future. This project will help us strengthen our position in the cargo aircraft leasing sector, as these converted aircraft will enable logistics companies to expand their capacity.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Jonas Januk\u0117nas, chief executive of Avia Solutions Group, said: &#8220;This type of conversion of a popular passenger aircraft is a historic achievement for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aviaam.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AviaAM Leasing<\/a>. Boeing foresees air cargo operators will need more than 2,600 freighters over the next two decades to keep up with increasing global freight traffic. P2F conversions are one way to meet this growing demand.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Brian McCarthy, vice president of sales and marketing at Mammoth Freighters LLC, said: &#8220;Once converted, the Boeing 777-300ERMF will be one of the most fuel-efficient long-range freighters available.
