{"id":183610,"date":"2025-05-07T11:39:49","date_gmt":"2025-05-07T10:39:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.aviationbusinessnews.com\/?p=183610"},"modified":"2025-05-07T11:39:49","modified_gmt":"2025-05-07T10:39:49","slug":"new-turkish-technic-facility-to-service-trent-engines-at-istanbul-airport-by-2027","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.aviationbusinessnews.com\/mro\/latest-news-mro\/new-turkish-technic-facility-to-service-trent-engines-at-istanbul-airport-by-2027\/","title":{"rendered":"New Turkish Technic facility to service Trent engines at Istanbul Airport by 2027"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MRO provider Turkish Technic has signed an agreement with aircraft engine manufacturer Rolls-Royce to establish a state-of-the-art authorised licensed engine maintenance centre in Istanbul Airport.<\/p>\n<p>As the newest member of the Rolls-Royce MRO network, the new facility, targeted to be completed by the end of 2027, will enable Turkish Technic to deliver comprehensive maintenance services for Trent XWB-97, Trent XWB-84, and Trent 7000 engines which power the Airbus A350 and Airbus A330neo aircraft respectively.<\/p>\n<p>It will also help create a highly skilled workforce within the ecosystem while providing support for the development of local supply chains and domestic engineering talent.<\/p>\n<p>With a planned capacity of ~200 shop visits per year, the facility is expected to be one of the largest in the region, and will also provide services to third-party Rolls-Royce TotalCare customers around the world, as well as the Turkish Airlines fleet.<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Ahmet Bolat, Turkish Technic chairman of the board and the executive committee, said: &#8220;Rolls-Royce\u2019s expertise will be instrumental in enhancing our engine maintenance operations. With our new facility expansion, we will be equipped to perform comprehensive maintenance services across a wide range of Trent engine models, allowing us to meet the evolving needs of the industry.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Solidifying our position in the MRO industry, this partnership significantly expands our maintenance capabilities and empowers us to continue delivering world-class service to our customers worldwide.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rob Watson, president &#8211; civil aerospace at Rolls-Royce, said: &#8220;We\u2019re significantly increasing our global MRO capacity by 2030, and today\u2019s announcement marks an important milestone on that journey, as we add <a href=\"https:\/\/turkishtechnic.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Turkish Technic<\/a> to our global network of capable, flexible and resilient MRO providers to support our TotalCare customers around the world.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It reinforces our strong partnership with Turkish Airlines \u2013 whose fleet of Airbus A350s will be supported by this facility \u2013 and shows confidence in Turkish Technic\u2019s ability to realise their ambition to become a world-class provider of civil large aero engine MRO.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn April 2024, Rolls-Royce reaffirmed its commitment to Turkey, which explored the implementation of several industrial initiatives, today\u2019s agreement is a demonstration of that.
