Flag carrier of Australia Qantas has officially opened the doors to its new Engineering Academy in Brisbane, welcoming the first new intake of apprentices.<\/p>\n

The Engineering Academy will train the next generation of aircraft engineers through an updated training programme developed by Qantas and Aviation Australia designed to increase the number of apprentices that can be\u202ftrained each year.<\/p>\n

In a post on LinkedIn, Qantas said: “The initial cohort of apprentices training this year will have the opportunity to undertake simulated practical tasks in a controlled environment that mirrors working in a hangar, alongside their theory and classroom training.<\/p>\n

“As part of their training, they will also learn through on-the-job training under the supervision of experienced Qantas<\/a> engineers.<\/p>\n

To enhance the training experience, regional airline QantasLink has also donated its last Boeing 717 to officially retire to the Engineering Academy, allowing apprentices to do part of their training on a jet aircraft and get all-important hands-on experience.<\/p>\n

Aviation Australia is a registered training organisation established by the Queensland State Government in 2001 to support the development and growth of aviation and aerospace industries in both the Australian and international markets. The organisation offers courses in cabin crew, engineering and pilot training to aspiring individuals, looking to pursue a career in the aviation industry.<\/p>\n

Aviation Australia also provides the opportunity for industry personnel to upskill or gain professional development, with a variety of short courses to further advance within the industry.<\/p>\n

Aviation Australia is a partner to over 60 airlines and aerospace companies, governments, defence forces and regulatory authorities, with over 1,000 graduates working worldwide.<\/p>\n
