{"id":180903,"date":"2025-01-15T18:14:19","date_gmt":"2025-01-15T18:14:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.aviationbusinessnews.com\/?p=180903"},"modified":"2025-01-15T18:14:19","modified_gmt":"2025-01-15T18:14:19","slug":"abelo-converts-atr-42-stol-order-to-other-aircraft","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.aviationbusinessnews.com\/low-cost\/abelo-converts-atr-42-stol-order-to-other-aircraft\/","title":{"rendered":"Abelo converts ATR 42 STOL order to other aircraft"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Regional aircraft manufacturer ATR, and turboprop lessor Abelo have made significant changes to an existing order.<\/p>\n<p>Abelo has converted its initial order for 10 ATR 42 STOL (Short Take-Off and Landing) aircraft into a mix of five ATR 42-600 and five ATR 72-600, due to the manufacturer cancelling development of the STOL variant.\u00a0 Additionally, Abelo has expanded its fleet by firming up orders for three ATR 72-600.<\/p>\n<p>The order for the three additional ATR 72-600 come from the conversion of options agreed upon during the Dubai Airshow back in 2023.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aviationbusinessnews.com\/low-cost\/atr-axes-stol-variant-project\/\">ATR axes STOL variant project<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Stephen Gorman, Chief Executive Officer at Abelo, said: \u201cBy diversifying our fleet with ATR 42-600 and 72-600 aircraft and adding three new ATR 72-600, we continue to provide our customers with exceptional performance, reduced emissions, and enhanced passenger comfort. This investment strengthens our ability to meet the evolving needs of regional aviation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nathalie Tarnaud Laude, Chief Executive Officer at ATR, stated: \u201cWith delivery slots secured until 2029, this fleet expansion reaffirms the long-term collaboration between ATR and Abelo and underscores our shared vision of enhancing regional connectivity and providing top-tier air transportation solutions to passengers across diverse networks.
