{"id":180156,"date":"2024-12-06T09:24:54","date_gmt":"2024-12-06T09:24:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.aviationbusinessnews.com\/?p=180156"},"modified":"2024-12-06T09:24:54","modified_gmt":"2024-12-06T09:24:54","slug":"airbus-to-provide-fhs-support-for-icelandair-a321lrs-a321xlrs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.aviationbusinessnews.com\/mro\/latest-news-mro\/airbus-to-provide-fhs-support-for-icelandair-a321lrs-a321xlrs\/","title":{"rendered":"Airbus to provide FHS support for Icelandair A321LRs\/A321XLRs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Icelandair has chosen\u00a0Airbus\u2019 Flight Hour Services (FHS)\u00a0to support the component requirements of their upcoming A321LR and future A321XLR aircraft fleets.<\/p>\n<p>FHS will provide a comprehensive 360\u00b0 Power-By-the-Hour (PBH) service for the Iceland flag carrier, featuring dedicated on-site inventory in Reykjav\u00edk, access to global FHS\u2019 pools and a comprehensive component repair service.<\/p>\n<p>The partnership will help ensure Icelandair has part availability and to further enhance aircraft technical performance by maximising fleet operational availability.<\/p>\n<p>Eir\u00edkur Sm\u00e1ri Vilhj\u00e1lmsson, manager at Icelandair\u2019s contracts department, said: <em>\u201c<\/em>During our negotiations we experienced great communication and professionalism where our specific needs were taken seriously and taken into consideration.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe contracted service level is very promising and stock locations around the world are ideal for Icelandair\u2019s operations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIcelandair also received good references from current FHS customers, which emphasised Airbus\u2019 ability as well as flexibility for smooth operations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Delphine Gianoglio, head of Airbus Services Sales Europe, said: \u201cWith our mutual interests well aligned in the aircraft, we will continue to be attentive to Icelandair\u2019s operational needs as we accompany them from the entry into service of the first A321LR aircraft and as the fleet grows.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.icelandair.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Icelandair<\/a> placed a firm order for 13 Airbus A321XLRs in July 2024, making the airline a new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.airbus.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Airbus<\/a> customer. Icelandair is also planning to lease four A321LRs.<\/p>\n<p>The first A321XLR, TF-IAA, joined Icelandair\u2019s fleet in December and a total of four A321LRs are expected to be delivered by summer
