{"id":179121,"date":"2024-10-24T17:03:20","date_gmt":"2024-10-24T16:03:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.aviationbusinessnews.com\/?p=179121"},"modified":"2024-10-24T17:03:20","modified_gmt":"2024-10-24T16:03:20","slug":"mro-europe-three-a380s-set-for-recycling-as-tarmac-aerosave-and-eastmerchant-sign-deal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.aviationbusinessnews.com\/mro\/latest-news-mro\/mro-europe-three-a380s-set-for-recycling-as-tarmac-aerosave-and-eastmerchant-sign-deal\/","title":{"rendered":"MRO Europe: Three A380s set for recycling as TARMAC Aerosave and EastMerchant sign deal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>TARMAC Aerosave and EastMerchant, an aviation services provider and partner in widebody lessor Crianza Aviation Ltd., have signed an agreement to recycle three Airbus A380 aircraft.<\/p>\n<p>The process of dismantling and parts removal for these widebody aircraft will take place in the coming months at TARMAC Aerosave\u2019s Tarbes facility in France.<\/p>\n<p>With TARMAC Aerosave successfully returning 29 A380s to service between 2023 and 2024, the demand for spare parts is steadily increasing. EastMerchant, which focuses not only on aircraft management in their early life but also on developing innovative end-of-life strategies, has recognised this market need.<\/p>\n<p>The collaboration aims to provide valuable spare parts from the dismantled aircraft to the secondary market. AMS Aircraft Services Ltd. will serve as EastMerchant\u2019s technical consultant throughout the project.<\/p>\n<p>The three A380s in question, stored by TARMAC Aerosave, are not slated for return to service. Instead, their parts will be sold, meeting the growing demand in the secondary market.<\/p>\n<p>Baldur Vander, managing director of EastMerchant, said: \u201cPreparing this project with TARMAC Aerosave and benefiting from their experience on the A380 were comforting elements to move forward and seize the opportunity to buy these aircraft. TARMAC Aerosave\u2019s commitment to a sustainable recycling also played a significant role in our decision.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>EastMerchant partnered with the English USM supplier Skyline Aero Lt. to select the most relevant parts to be removed. All sales and distribution will be managed by Skyline from their UK headquarters.<\/p>\n<p>Bradley Gregory, chief executive of Skyline, said: \u201cOur teams are excited to be working with TARMAC Aerosave on these projects; their ability to remove parts quickly was a key factor to ensure we fulfill current market demands. This addition of this inventory allows us to strengthen our long-term commitment to A380 operators globally.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Alexandre Brun, chief executive of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tarmacaerosave.aero\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TARMAC Aerosave<\/a>, said: \u201cWe are thrilled to continue working on such an iconic aircraft and contribute extending the life of the rest of the flying fleet while recycling what needs to be at the best of our knowledge.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The announcement was made during Aviation Week\u2019s MRO Europe 2024 event in
